Types of Poly Tanks
Cone Bottom Tanks
Designed for complete drainage and mixing applications. The conical bottom allows gravity discharge of liquids, slurries, and chemicals. Available with steel stands. Popular for chemical feed and inductor tank systems.
HDPE Tanks
High-density polyethylene tanks for general chemical storage. Excellent chemical resistance for acids, caustics, and solvents. UV stabilized for outdoor use. Available in vertical and horizontal configurations.
Crosslink Polyethylene Tanks
Premium poly tanks with superior chemical resistance and higher specific gravity ratings than standard HDPE. Required for storing heavier chemicals. Available up to 2.0 specific gravity for the most aggressive applications.
Specific Gravity Ratings
Choosing the right specific gravity rating ensures your poly tank can safely hold your chemical:
- 1.0 SG (Water) - Standard HDPE tanks for water, light chemicals, and general storage
- 1.35 SG - Common for most industrial chemicals including mild acids and caustics
- 1.5 SG - Required for heavier chemicals like sulfuric acid blends and ferric chloride
- 1.9 SG - Crosslink polyethylene for concentrated sulfuric acid and other heavy chemicals
- 2.0 SG - Maximum rating for the heaviest and most aggressive chemical storage
