Tate Diversified supplies used shell and tube heat exchangers and plate heat exchangers for HVAC, process cooling, chemical processing, and industrial heating applications. We carry units in stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper construction. All heat exchangers are inspected and pressure tested before sale to ensure reliable performance.
Types of Heat Exchangers
Shell & Tube
The most common industrial heat exchanger design. One fluid flows through the tubes while another flows over them inside the shell. Durable, easy to maintain, and available in a wide range of sizes and materials. Ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
Plate & Frame
Compact design using corrugated plates to transfer heat between fluids. Higher efficiency than shell and tube in a smaller footprint. Easy to expand by adding plates. Popular in food, beverage, and HVAC applications.
Double Pipe
Simple pipe-within-a-pipe design for smaller applications. Cost-effective for low flow rates and moderate temperature differences. Easy to install, clean, and maintain. Often used in series for increased capacity.
Construction Materials
We stock heat exchangers in multiple materials to match your application requirements:
- Stainless Steel (304/316) - Corrosion resistant for food, pharmaceutical, and chemical applications. 316 SS for chloride and acid environments.
- Carbon Steel - Cost-effective for general industrial heating and cooling. Common in HVAC and utility applications.
- Copper / Copper-Nickel - Excellent thermal conductivity for marine and water-side applications. Superior heat transfer properties.
- Titanium - Maximum corrosion resistance for aggressive chemicals, seawater, and chlorine service.
Common Applications
Heat exchangers are essential across virtually every industry:
- HVAC Systems - Building heating and cooling, chilled water systems, and boiler economizers
- Process Cooling - Cooling process fluids, oil cooling, and quench systems
- Chemical Processing - Reaction temperature control, solvent recovery, and condensation
- Food & Beverage - Pasteurization, wort cooling, and product temperature control
- Power Generation - Condenser systems, feedwater heating, and lube oil cooling
Inspected & Pressure Tested
Every heat exchanger we sell undergoes a comprehensive inspection and testing process before delivery.
✓ Tested Before Shipment
Each unit is inspected and tested to verify condition and performance.
Testing includes:
- Tube bundle inspection
- Hydrostatic pressure testing
- Gasket condition assessment
- Shell and head inspection
- Leak testing
