Types of Generators
Diesel Generators
The most common industrial generator fuel type. Reliable, fuel-efficient, and available in the widest range of sizes. Ideal for emergency standby and construction applications. Long service life with proper maintenance.
Natural Gas Generators
Clean-burning generators connected to natural gas supply lines. Lower emissions than diesel. No fuel storage required. Popular for permanent standby installations and prime power in areas with reliable gas service.
Standby Generators
Rated for emergency backup power during utility outages. Automatic transfer switch starts the generator when power is lost. Typically limited to a set number of hours per year. Most common for commercial and institutional buildings.
Prime Power Generators
Rated for continuous or near-continuous operation as the primary power source. Used at remote sites, construction projects, and facilities without reliable utility power. Higher duty rating than standby units.
